From Iceland — Most People Don't Trust Parliament

Most People Don’t Trust Parliament

Published August 21, 2013

A new poll conducted by the University of Iceland has some bad news for the country’s elected representatives.
RÚV reports that, according to a poll conducted by the social sciences department at the University of Iceland, 76% of respondents said they had little or no trust in parliament. Men were also more likely than women to say they had no trust at all in the institution.
Of those who did trust parliament, only 2% said they trusted the legislature a great deal or completely. The remaining 12% only trusted parliament to some degree greater than not trusting it at all or only trusting it a little.
It should be had in mind, though, that the poll was conducted last February and March, before elections put a new ruling coalition in power.
