From Iceland — Kling Og Bang Opens At Hlemmur

Kling Og Bang Opens At Hlemmur

Published June 11, 2012

The art gallery Kling og Bang has opened a new gallery space at the Hlemmur bus station.
In a statement to the press, organisers say the exhibition area is open to artists to show their work and bears the name “Kling og Bang útibú – Public Art Center”.
The first exhibition being shown in the space is from Ragnar Már Nikulásson, who is introducing the first part of his piece “Falinn-Gone” (a play on the Icelandic word falinn, meaning hidden, with the English “gone”, and the spiritual discipline Falun Gong, which has been the subject of much-publicised political persecution in China). The show will start on Monday and will continuously change over the course of the time it is being exhibited.
More artists will be called upon to exhibit their works at Hlemmur for bus station employees, passengers, and general passers-by to enjoy.
For more information, the curious are encouraged to visit the gallery’s Facebook page.
