Icelanders Among the Most Pessimistic

Icelanders are among the most pessmistic people polled by Capacent, in
a recent survey covering 17 countries. 70% believe the economy will get
worse, as compared to the international average of 50%. Only the British were more pessimistic in this area, with 78% believing in worsening economic conditions to come. About half of Icelanders believe their household income will decrease, and the vast majority do not trust the government to save the country from a deepening crisis.
