Iceland with Highest Percentage of University Graduates

A report from the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) indicates that Iceland has the highest percentage of university graduates than any OECD country.
The report, Education at a Glance 2009, OECD Indicators, shows that the percentage of Icelandic university students who graduate with a first-level degree is 63.1%, while the OECD average is 38.7%. Furthermore, the twice as many female as male students graduate from Icelandic universities. These figures show a 33% increase from 2000.
Poland and Australia follow close behind, with graduating percentages of 49.8% and 49% respectively. The graduating percentage is most dramatic between the sexes, with 88.7% of female students versus 39.5% of male students.
In addition, the number of foreign students graduating from the University of Iceland has doubled from the 1999-2000 school year.
