From Iceland — Iceland Second Most Peaceful Country in the World

Iceland Second Most Peaceful Country in the World

Published August 12, 2010

Iceland is second only to New Zealand in terms of domestic tranquility, according to a new survey released by Vision of Humanity.
Iceland was in first place in 2008, before the economic crash and subsequent revolution, which brought it down to 4th place in 2009. Iceland has since risen up to second place. The top ten actually includes all the Scandinavian countries, and is comprised of (in descending order behind Iceland), Japan, Austria, Norway, Ireland, Luxembourg, Denmark, Finland, and Sweden.
The United States ranked 85th out of 149, making it sort of dangerous, but the European countries stayed in the top 50, with the exception of Russia, which came in at 143rd out of 149, putting it in the top ten most dangerous countries in the world.
The most dangerous country in the world is, perhaps not surprisingly, Iraq.
