From Iceland — Hells Angels Seek To Trademark Name And Logo

Hells Angels Seek To Trademark Name And Logo

Published November 15, 2011

The Icelandic chapter of the Hells Angels have filed paperwork to make their name and logo a legal trademark.
The Icelandic Patent Office is currently handling their application. This office is apparently under a great deal of pressure, and nearly overwhelmed with work, receiving hundreds of applications each month.
The Hells Angels filed their application last September, and are still awaiting an answer from the patent office. Normally, the process takes six to eight weeks to complete.
One of the points of contention the patent office needs to investigate is whether or not the logo of the Hells Angels and their name can be trademarked. In this matter, they will see if anyone already has a trademark on them, or even if they fall under the category of things which can be trademarked.
The Hells Angels gave no indication what products are being planned, if any, to bear the group’s name or logo.
