Published March 6, 2013

Fewer Icelanders traveled abroad in February 2013 than in the same month last year. 20,800 Icelanders passed through Keflavík International Airport last month, in comparison to the 21,200 who transited through the airport in 2012, mbl.is reports.
Research conducted by analysts at Íslandsbanki have found that there has been a 1% decrease in Icelanders engaging in foreign travel so far in 2013.
Meanwhile, Keflavík international Airport is reporting a 23.5% increase in total passengers who passed through the airport in February 2013 compared to the same month in 2012.
Five airlines have been operating through Keflavík over the winter months and the airport expects very high traffic through the terminal this coming summer when 17 airlines will be running flights regularly to and from Iceland.
