From Iceland — Eyjafjallajökull Volcano Becomes Flash Game

Eyjafjallajökull Volcano Becomes Flash Game

Published April 27, 2010

If you’ve ever wanted to navigate a commercial airline through clouds of volcanic ash while a plume literally chases you, but just didn’t want to go through the hassle of getting a pilot’s license, we have good news for you.
The Eyjafjallajökull eruption has apparently gained enough fame (or notoriety) to warrant its depiction in an online game.
Called “Volcanic Airways”, it’s a browser-based Flash game wherein all you have to do is use your mouse to direct a plane through clouds of volcanic ash, while the main plume slowly advances from behind. Flying into a cloud will slow your speed, and if the plume catches up with you, you lose.
While not likely to replace Robot Unicorn Attack any time soon, it is pretty addictive.
