From Iceland — Constitutional Committee Wants To Wrap Things Up

Constitutional Committee Wants To Wrap Things Up

Published March 4, 2013

The Constitutional Committee will circulate 100-pages of comments in Alþingi today and is optimistic that the constitutional debates can be concluded in the coming days, RÚV reports.
“I am still of the opinion that parliament can begin to conclude matters now. We are in the middle of the second debate and require just one or two more days to complete discussions if it is the desire of everybody to conclude the matter at all,” said Álfheiður Ingadóttir, vice chairman of the Constitutional Committee. “We can then carry out the third debate over the final two days before Parliament dissolves ahead of elections.”
