Published September 23, 2009

The group, founded in 2007, has been founded primarily by three Icelanders; Jón Valur Jensson, Guðmundur Pálsson and Eva S. Einarsdóttir, all of whom blog on blog.is. Jennson told Morgunblaðið that reactionto the idea has been positive for the most part.
When asked about the party’s platform, he told reporters that they aspire to provide Christian political leadership and Christian solutions to societal problems, and looks to Christian political parties in Scandinavia as examples.
Iceland has a national church, The Evangelical Lutheran Church of Iceland, the Christianity is taught in public schools. However, church attendance has been dropping in recent years, with fewer Icelanders identifying themselves as regular church-goers or even practicing Christians.
