From Iceland — Chinese Electric Cars On The Way To Iceland

Chinese Electric Cars On The Way To Iceland

Published April 20, 2012

As a result of an agreement between an Icelandic and Chinese company, Chinese-made electric cars and trucks will soon be sold in Iceland.
Morgunblaðið reports that GT group of Iceland and Foton International of China signed a business agreement in Beijing yesterday to begin the importing of electric vehicles made by the latter. Representatives from both companies met at the Icelandic embassy in that city to make the deal official.
To start with, two different vehicles will be imported: a miniature family car and a delivery truck. The company itself does business around the world, with factories established in many countries, including Indonesia, Vietnam, Russia, Mexico, Pakistan, Turkey and Iran.
Iceland is the first northern European country that the company has chosen to export electric vehicles to, and GT group hopes that with the signing of the agreement, electric cars and trucks will soon be a reality in Iceland.
