From Iceland — CCP Awarded Best Independent Studio

CCP Awarded Best Independent Studio

Published July 12, 2012

CCP Games, the Icelandic company responsible for EVE Online, was awarded Best Independent Studio at the Develop Awards last night.
CCP has already made a name for itself with the popular MMORPG EVE Online, as well as the FPS DUST 514. The hard work of the company, which was one of the few companies recording any profit after the crash, continues to pay off, as it did last night at the Develop Awards.
CCP walked away with Best Independent Studio this year, edging out some rather fierce competition. Part of this success can probably be attributed to DUST 514, which links up console and PC gamers on the same server, for the first time in history.
In a statement to the press, CCP director Hilmar Veigar Pétursson said, “On behalf of all CPP employees, I want to thank the judging committee for this great honour. This is an especially enjoyable recognition from our colleagues in the gaming industry, and of course first and foremost a recognition of the hard work and dedication of CCP employees.”
