From Iceland — 3 Million ISK to Gaza

3 Million ISK to Gaza

Published February 3, 2009

The Association Iceland-Palestine announced it had collected about 3
million ISK to be donated to Palestinians living in Gaza, half a
million of which came from the Ministry of Transportation. The donation drive began in late December, when fighting between Israel and Gaza recommenced. A statement from Association Iceland-Palestine says a call for help came to them from Physicians for Human Rights Israel, in order to purchase the most vital necessities – medicine, beds, oxygen, and sterilized materials.
Physicians for Human Rights Israel, comprised in part of Israeli volunteers, had as its objective to get a medical center up and running in Gaza, which they had been able to do with difficulty.
Those wishing to assist in this effort can contact the Association Iceland-Palestine on their website.
